Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, Chief Executive Officer, Indus Health Network participated in the International Forum on Health Cooperation and Talent Cultivation during 5-7 December, 2019. The forum was part of China’s ‘Belt and Road Initiative’. The initiative aims to align with each partnering nation’s development strategies, complement with each nation’s strengths, and to promote development through strengthening international cooperation. Thus, advancing global health cause serves as an integral part of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development. In order to further the cause, the forum was organized. The objectives of the forum are: to create a health professional development alliance; talent cultivation, exchange, and cooperation in health system management; and to increase competitiveness.
The forum was attended by 300 participants. Foreign participants were selected from the countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. Dr. Abdul Bari Khan addressed the forum and discussed the changing paradigm of healthcare in Pakistan. He elaborated IHN’s example and told that he wanted to create a healthcare system which does not discriminate on the basis of religion, race, or the paying ability of the patient. He further informed that the network treats millions of patients without charging a single rupee and provides best quality care to all its patients.
